Your tasks are safeand sound with us.
Here's how your tasks are stored, protected and backed up, and how you can take them with you or delete them whenever you like. We've kept it clear and honest, so you can relax.
How we look after your data.
Each of these is something Emilo does today, right now, for every account.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Every request between your browser and Emilo travels over TLS, and the database that holds your tasks is encrypted where it's stored.
Only your workspace sees your data
Access is enforced with row-level security in the database itself, not just in the app. A query from one workspace cannot return another workspace's tasks, projects or comments, whatever the app in front of it does.
Daily backups of the hosted database
The hosted database is backed up every day. We like to be precise here, so that's exactly what we promise: encrypted in transit and at rest, backed up daily, and yours to export at any time.
Export any time, as CSV or JSON
Your tasks, projects and comments belong to you. Download them from Settings, under Data, whenever you like, with no notice period and nobody to ask.
Delete your account yourself
Head to Settings → Data → Delete account. Once you type to confirm, your login, profile and tasks are removed. Team workspaces you solely own go too, after any subscription is cancelled; shared ones pass to the longest-serving admin.
No selling of data
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers or use your tasks for anything other than showing them back to you and the people you've shared a workspace with.
A few questions people ask.
Here are the friendly, honest answers.
Which cookies does the site set?
Only the essential ones, unless you say otherwise: the ones that keep you logged in and remember your choice on the cookie banner. Analytics cookies stay off until you accept them, and you can change your mind any time from Cookie settings in the footer.
Can I take my data to another tool?
Of course. You can export your tasks, projects and comments as CSV or JSON from Settings at any time. The CSV opens nicely in a spreadsheet, and the JSON is the full record for anything you'd like to script.
What happens to backups after I delete my account?
Your data is removed from the live database straight away. Backups then age out on their own daily schedule, and after that it's gone for good.
