Your privacy

Last updated 22 October 2026

Emilo is your task list and day planner, and we only keep what it takes to run yours, nothing more. Here's exactly what that is, in friendly, everyday words.

What we store

  • Your email address. It's your login and where we send confirmation and password reset links.
  • A hash of your password. Our sign-in provider stores it. We never see or keep the password itself.
  • Your tasks. The title, who it's assigned to, its priority, its due date and whether it's done. That's the whole list.

We don't ask for your name, your company or a card to start. If you bring your team in, we take a card then and only then.

Who can see your tasks

Your tasks are private to you. If you join or create a team workspace, the people in that workspace can see the tasks in it, within the permissions you set. Nobody outside your workspace can, and we don't sell, share or use your tasks for anything other than showing them back to you.

How it's protected

Everything travels over an encrypted connection, and it's encrypted again where it's stored. We back your data up regularly so a bad day at the data centre doesn't cost you your list.

Your data

Your tasks are encrypted on the way to us and where they're stored, and only your workspace can read them: that's enforced in the database with row-level security, not just in the app. The hosted database is backed up daily. You can export everything as CSV or JSON from Settings whenever you like, and delete your account yourself from the same place. The full list of what we do to keep your data safe is on the security page.

Deleting your account

When your account is deleted, your email, your login and your tasks go with it. Backups age out on their own schedule after that, and then it's gone for good.

Cookies

The site keeps essential browser storage only: what keeps you logged in and remembers the choice you make on the cookie banner. Analytics cookies, which help us see how many people visit and which pages they read, are off until you accept them on that banner. If you choose "No thanks", we keep only what's needed to run the site. You can change your mind any time from Cookie settings in the footer.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters to you, we'll say so inside the app before it takes effect. The date at the top is the last time it moved.
